Installing Model number TAPP-1000 Strut Brace
(Porsche 911s from years 1969 through 1989)

1.
Unsnap and remove carpet to allow access to the two front strut towers.

2.
Remove the (2) rear 10mm socket head bolts on each of the two strut towers one side at a time.

3.
Note: To prevent any alignment changes during installation, do not turn the wheels, lean on or sit in the car while the bolts are loose.

4.
Remove all undercoating from the (2) rear clamping plates. Retain the washers and the clamping plates for re-use.

5.
Install the triangular brackets as shown in fig. 1. Torque to factory specs.

6.
Install one end of the strut tube/rod end assembly per fig. 2 using the hardware provided.

7.
Install the opposite end of the strut tube/rod end assembly by adjusting the length by holding the rod end and rotating the tube. Install using the hardware provided as in step 6.

8.
With both brackets installed, rotate the strut tube/rod end assembly until the tube is snug. Rotate (tighten) the tube ½ of a turn. Note: Only turn the tube ½ of a turn. More than that will stress the strut towers and affect the front alignment.

9.
Tighten the jam nuts using a 13/16 inch open end wrench on the strut bar plug and an 11/16 inch open end wrench on the jam nuts.

10.
Re-install the carpet. You may want to cut the carpet to fit around the bracket for a more professional look per fig. 3.

Installing Model number TAPP-1005 Strut Brace
(Installing Model number TAPP-1005 Strut Brace (Porsche Carrera 2s and Carrera 4s From years 1990 through 1994 & 993s from 1989 through 1998)

1.
Unsnap and remove carpet to allow access to the two front strut towers one side at a time.

2.
Remove the (2) front 13mm nuts on each of the two strut towers.

3.
Note: To prevent any alignment changes during installation, do not turn the wheels, lean on or sit in the car while the bolts are loose.

4.
Install the triangular brackets as shown in fig. 1. Torque to factory specs.

5.
Install one end of the strut tube/rod end assembly per fig. 1 and fig. 2 using the hardware provided.

6.
Install the opposite end of the strut tube/rod end assembly by adjusting the length by holding the rod end and rotating the tube. Install using the hardware provide as in step 5.

7.
With the brace installed, rotate the strut tube/rod end assembly until the the tube is snug. Rotate (tighten) the tube ½ of a turn. Note: Only turn the tube ½ of a turn. More than that will stress the strut towers and affect the front alignment.

8.
Tighten the jam nuts using a 13/16 inch open end wrench on the strut bar plug and an 11/16 inch open end wrench on the jam nuts.

9.
Re-install the carpet. You may want to cut the carpet around the brackets for a more professional look.

Installing Model number TAPP-1010 Front Strut Brace

(Porsche Boxster and Boxster S From years 1997 through 2004).

1. Remove battery cover by twisting the lever/screws 90 degrees and the two side covers using a #25 torx tip. This allows access to the shock tower mounts and battery per figure F1 and F2.
2. Remove the two "rear most" nuts on each of the two shock mounts using a 13mm socket per fig. F3.
3. Note: To prevent any alignment changes during installation, do not turn the wheels, lean on or sit in the car while the bolts are loose.
4. Install the brackets and tighten nuts by hand. Note: There is a passenger side and driver side part.
5. Torque the nuts holding the brackets to the shock towers to factory specs.
6. Install one end of the strut tube/rod end assembly to the bracket per fig. F4 using the hardware provided. The hex bolt comes in from the top and the nut is installed on the bottom. The bar will run behind the battery.
7. Install the opposite end of the strut tube/rod end assembly per fig. F5 by adjusting the length by holding the rod end and rotating the tube. Install using the hardware provided as in step 6. Securely tighten the bolts and nuts on each rod end using an 11/16" & 5/8" socket and/or wrench.
8. With the brace installed, rotate the strut tube/rod end assembly until the tube is snug. Rotate (tighten) the tube ½ of a turn. Note: Only turn the tube ½ of a turn. More than that will stress the strut towers and affect the front alignment.
9. Tighten the jam nuts using an 11/16 inch open end wrench.
10. Reinstall the battery and side covers.

Installing Model number TAPP-1015 Rear Strut Brace

(Porsche Boxster and Boxster S From years 1997 through 2004).

1. Lower the convertible top to allow access to the rear shock mounts directly behind the driver and passenger seat area per fig. R1.
2. Remove two plastic screws on each side to allow access to shock mounts per R2. Carefully peel back the insulation being careful not to damage it.
3. Remove the two nuts on each shock mount using a 13mm socket per fig. R3.
4. Note: To prevent any alignment changes during installation, do not turn the wheels, lean on or sit in the car while the bolts are loose.
5. Install passenger and driver side rear brackets per fig R4. Reinstall nuts and torque per factory specs.
6. Install one end of the strut tube/rod end assembly to the bracket per fig. R5 using the hardware provided.
7. Install the opposite end of the strut tube/rod end assembly by adjusting the length by holding the rod end and rotating the tube. Install using the hardware provide as in step 6. Torque the bolts and nuts on each rod end using a 5/8" socket or wrench. Tighten securely.
8. With the brace installed, rotate the strut tube/rod end assembly until the tube is snug per fig. R5. Rotate (tighten) the tube ½ of a turn. Note: Only turn the tube ½ of a turn. More than that will stress the strut towers and may affect the alignment.
9. Tighten the jam nuts using an 11/16 inch open end wrench.
10. Completely lower or raise the convertible top.
